My Students

Opening a book is opening up the world to a child. I would love for my students to be able to see all of the titles I have in storage and "see the world." My students love to work with inspiring quotes in writing. I want to cover my room in messages that inspire to work hard and live well.

Our school is in a smaller, rural area that is surrounded with a very supportive community that wants the best for their children.

Unfortunately, due to budget cuts, we are scaling back to what we deem is absolutely necessary. Our class is so excited that donors chose is giving people the opportunity to help us make our classroom a brighter and better place to learn!

My Project

Our class works with inspiring quotes in writing class. The students research ones that touch them and then write on the topic. I believe that quotes around the room would be a great motivator for the project as well as a good reminder of our classroom climate. Also, a book case would help us display all of the books that I can't wait for my students to read. Our pencil sharpener is being held together by tape. I am sure a new one would be an exciting testimony on how others care about things as little as a pencil sharpener for them.

An educational system isn't worth a great deal if it teaches young people how to make a living but doesn't teach them how to make a life.
