Ms. Gray from Memphis TN is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a laptop computer and ink for our classroom HP printer.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Do you realize how hard it is to rotate 25 students on two working computers? Well let me tell you, it is extremely difficult. With all of the academic interventions and class projects, it is certainly a task to allow all of my students a chance to use a computer to complete assignments.
My class is a diverse group of learners who really enjoy using technology for writing, Accelerated Reader, and researching projects.
They attend a Title I school where most of the students are on free and reduced lunch. The majority of my students do not have access to a computer at home, and most assignments must be completed in the classroom. The students also enjoy writing stories on the computer and printing them so they can store them in a Writing Journal.
An additional computer in my classroom and ink for our classroom HP printer will allow more students the chance to experience technology in so many ways. Students will be able to research and print information for projects, create and print PowerPoints for display, take tests for Accelerated Reader, create and print stories, and interact with technology-based games for learning. The use of this computer will also engage student learning and enrichment opportunities.
This project is important to our class because it will make it easier to increase my students' ability to use technology and increase higher level thinkers.
It will also open up the doors to a variety of information that they may not otherwise have access to.
