My students need pens and index cards for our daily work. We also need an Apple TV to access YouTube, Netflix, and other multimedia items to add to our curriculum.
Help out the neediest of my students with basic supplies, and at the same time, provide all of my students with instant access to Internet media.
My students come from a rural school in Illinois that covers three counties.
Though many of my students have the means to come to school with basic supplies, almost 50% of them fall below the poverty level. These students rarely have Internet access at home, and even the most basic supplies can be hard to come by.
We will use the Apple TV as an add-on to a grant-provided LCD projector. The Apple TV will allow me to use my own videos and music in class as well as access web-based multimedia via podcasts, Netflix, and YouTube.
My neediest students will benefit from basic supplies such as the pens and index cards in this request. Both items are essential for the study strategies and classroom activities in my courses, and having easy access to them will make fully engaging in class easier than ever.
This request will help over 100 students in a small, rural school gain access to some of the technology and supplies available in wealthier districts in the state.
Bridging this wealth gap will help even the playing field for my students.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
