Myths, Monsters, And Magic: Time Travel To Ancient Egypt
My students need 30 copies of "The Red Pyramid" by Rick Riordan to enrich their study of ancient Egypt.
This project expired on June 7, 2011.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Doc Brown's DeLorean is out of commission, Bill and Ted's time traveling phone booth has traveled to a future utopia, and Mrs. Frizzle's magic school bus is currently unavailable. The only way my students can time travel is by bringing the past to life with the magic of historical fiction.
We are a sixth grade classroom filled with high achieving, gifted and talented students at a Title One Academic Achievement Award School.
Although we are located in a low socioeconomic district, we are an extremely high achieving school that promotes success for all students.
Reading The Red Pyramid will help enrich our study of Ancient Egypt. The Red Pyramid takes students on an exciting quest with Carter and Sadie Kane as they encounter what happens when an ancient civilization meets a modern world. By culminating Language Arts and Social Studies content, students will gain greater understanding of ancient civilizations and mythology. We will finish our unit with a Night at the Museum: Egyptian Wing event where students will share their museum-style exhibit about ancient Egyptian culture, contributions and civilizations with our community.
Take a second and remember a moment in your own life where what you learned in school came to life.
By providing these books, you will be the catalyst in creating that moment for my students. Bring learning to life by donating to our classroom.
