Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I am looking to incorporate real life photos into my classroom. I believe students benefit from seeing real life objects through pictures as well as pictures of themselves learning in the classroom. I am a Resource Specialist at an Elementary School in Oakland, CA. It is an urban school with mainly low income students. I work with Special Education students in grades K-5. For this proposal, I am requesting a donation of a digital camera for use in my classroom. This camera will benefit all of the students I work with by capturing their images and real life objects seen in the world that I can incorporate into lessons. I want these students to be introduced to what a digital camera is, have a chance to use one and incorporate their pictures into their classwork. Thanks!
