Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do your remember going to elementary or middle school, walking into your Math class and having every supply at your fingertips? Whether it was markers to create colorful projects; glue to stick those notes in your book; or just somewhere to keep them! My students don't have that luxury!

My classroom is full of characters, to say the least!

Although sometimes challenging, they are wonderful young people with so much in front of them. Unfortunately, the school they attend is, for the most part, full of economically disadvantaged students and parents are less able to provide those basic supplies that make a classroom a classroom. While it may not seem like a big deal to you and I to stick a sheet of notes into a notebook, it is instilling that ever-important quality of organization into these young students!

My Project

These resources I am requesting will allow students to be more invested in adding and subtracting fractions, rounding to the nearest tenth, or any other 7th Grade Math objective, for that matter! As a class, we will be able to glue our organized notes into our interactive notebooks and keep our team's supplies in a neat place on their team's desks. Also, a crucial part of our note-taking is making foldables - that is what the construction paper is for! With a little bit of color and a hands-on activity my students will be more interested in the information in front of them.
