My Students

A T Shirt project will be used to promote college awareness for my students.

I teach 7th grade science to a diverse group of high needs, urban students.

Many of my students struggle and don't think about college as a possibility. I would like to encourage an interest in science and a desire for college attendance among my students.

My Project

College T Shirts will be used as way to introduce students to colleges in our state and the possibility of college attendance by them. We will have a college of the week and become familiar with positive aspects of that college. Since T shirts can be a method of sharing information and promoting a topic, our class will design our own shirts and decorate them. Students will choose a science topic to decorate the front and a design to promote our own class and school on the back.

Please help our students with this project.

College awareness is critical for urban students and the opportunity to design their own shirts will be a project that will promote creativity, reinforcement of science topics, and pride in their class and school.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
