My Students

Help save our artwork! We incorporate art into our lessons in our 1st grade classroom. Projects include: self-portraits, portraits of U.S presidents, and neighborhood and community sketches and watercolors.

Our classroom is a CTT classroom (collaborative team-teaching).

This means that both special education students and general education students work side by side. There are two teachers in the classroom - that work as a team, one special education, one general education. We are undertaking a study of the White House and all 44 U.S. presidents (which we completed last year, which great success and a huge amount of student interest). By having these sketchbooks, the students will be able to keep all of their art projects in one safe, spiral-bound place.

By having these sketchbooks, the students will be able to keep all of their art projects in one safe, spiral-bound place. We will be studying all 44 presidents and their families. The first grade Social Studies curriculum focuses on community and family.

Many of our students don't have these types of resources at home, so we want to incorporate them into our classroom. Help our students grow as citizens and artists!
