My Students

Having the right tools makes work easier and more enjoyable. Giving our kids garden tools and gloves will enable them to work smarter and be safe. This will help them stay on task longer and be more productive.

Our students are full of inquiry and short on experience.

I want the have them full of experience and enjoy playing in the dirt and mud while learning about plants, bugs, water, soil, weather and being outdoors. They are low in economics but high in expectations. There is a language barrier with some but our common goal it learning to grow your own food and finding out what native plants can do. We are a suburban area and some kids are bused to us.

My Project

With these tools the kids won't be afraid to dive right in to the dirt and plant seeds or study soil. They will also prevent any bites are stings and may help us discover and play with the critters. The garden tools will make planting and weeding easier. We will be able to teach the kids what each tool can do and maybe encourage our kids to take these ideas home to try. Our students will know how to grow food items as well as maintain a butterfly garden and take care of native plants.

Give a person a fish and they will eat for a day, teach them to fish and they will eat for a lifetime?

We want to be able to teach our kids how to garden, so they will grow throughout their lifetime.
