My Students

Imagine what it would be like to have the talent but not be able to afford the necessary tools needed to produce the work.

My students range from freshmen to seniors who have a love for the theater.

The spend many hours painting and drawing to design such wonderful sets, props, backdrops, etc. Since we come from a small rural school where the only money for our drama projects comes from ticket sales, we have quite a challenge. We do not have large audiences and can barely afford royalties let alone all the materials needed to build sets. So, we paint most everything and have to draw things on a large scale which is somewhat difficult. A projector would allow us to take original student drawings and blow them up to produce set pieces, backdrops, etc. for the productions.

My Project

The projector would enable the students to create large pieces of artwork that we are otherwise unable to create at all or without great difficulty. This would give the students the ability to create more professional looking sets, props, backdrops, etc. in a matter that looks more professional. This would also allow them to learn techniques used on a professional level for future jobs.

As a small rural community school we struggle every season to make enough money to support our program.

In turn its hard to attract a large amount of people to our productions because we cant afford the royalties for the shows they might recognize. We have finally have earned enough money to pay the larger royalties. Now we would like to have a set and costumes that would be as impressive as our students work.
