My Students

Class novels are one of the most value ways to share literature.

I teach reading and writing in a charming city that is growing steadily and quickly in South Louisiana.

It is my second year teaching English Language Arts to approximately fifty eager-to-learn fifth graders. I want to share my love of literature with each and every one of my capable students.

My Project

I am requesting two class sets of novels by the well known author, Betsy Byars. I have read both of these novels, The Pinballs, and Summer of the Swans, to previous classes, so I know both of these choices will be well received with my recently assigned classes. These popular literature selections are both filled with challenging vocabulary, flavorful figures of speech, and opportunities for teachable moments and class discussions.

I haven't been teaching for very long, but I already know that education is the perfect career choice for me.

Please help me inspire and motivate my students to read good literature by helping to fund our class novel needs. I want all of my students to learn to love good books!
