You Sank My Battleship!

My students need Battleship games for a kinetic and tactile way to grasp graphing on a coordinate plane!

My Students

"Let's learn about coordinate graphing!" the teacher says. The students let out a low moan. "Let's spend the hour playing games!" The students cheer the teacher's decision. Making learning fun and interactive helps students build the skills they need to succeed!

My students are a special group of kids that are very energetic, active, and love debate!

These students are in the great state of Missouri, where we have recently endured the painful process of school restructuring. They are resilient, and committed to achieving at high levels, which is what I hope to do this year.

My Project

The battle ship game gives learners a fun way to engage in graphing on a coordinate plane, a skill that many learners find difficulty with. This tool will allow me as a teacher to keep learning student centered while keeping the students interested. At the end of the activity students will not only feel like they've walked away learning something, but they will also find learning fun.

It is so important with a diverse group of learners to have a diverse toolbox of strategies to reach them where they are.

Differentiated instructions means teachers must think outside of the box in order to teach effectively with today's learners. I am committed to teaching my students using whatever method it takes, now my students need the materials to be successful.
