My Students

Do you remember the first time you read or watched the movie "The Outsiders?" Well many of my students face similar challenges to those presented in the novel.

Many of my students come from single-parent homes and will be unable to purchase their own copies of the novel.

Many of the students come from poverty-stricken families. Many of the families would be unable to purchase the novel. It is my hope that my students can have their own copy to write in and for future reading.

My Project

My students will have the opportunity to own their own copy of a "life-changing" novel. I believe that by owning this novel, my students will be able to make personal connections to their own lives. It is my hope that students will be able to own their own copy of the novel to make connections, read, underline vocabulary, etc.

It is my hope that you will contribute to our cause.

I really would love for my students to have the opportunity to own their own novel. Many of my students enjoy the novel, but we often do not have time for meaningful discussions of the novel in class due to time constraints.
