My Students

Talking textbooks? Animated subtraction? Dancing frogs? Math? Yes, this is our new math series! It is an interactive book available online for the students to become engaged in. It will make math more engaging and "real" to our technologically savvy students.

My students are excited and eager to learn.

We have an older, outdated school. Our technology is sub-par, to say the least. I teach diverse learners such as ELL and ESE students. I teach 2nd grade. 2nd grade is an age where students are really becoming involved and interested in their learning. It is a critical year to get them engaged in school. They are very technology savvy. I am hoping to reach and engage them through today's newest technologies.

My Project

How should math be taught? Well, if you're like me, it was skill and drill and all paper and pencil. In today's day and age, there are countless new technologies to teach math and other subjects, as well. A recent training introduced me to our new math series. It is highly interactive and helps teach the concepts through technology. Imagine your textbook coming to life through cartoons, games and online explanations. Imagine becoming immersed in a visual and fun representation of subtracting two digit numbers (all taught through the help of a cute dancing frog.) I was immediately envious of all the schools that will have access to this technology. I don't want my students to miss out!! I need this projector to make this possible. I am determined to be the best teacher possible. I really and truly feel that this projector would open up the world to my students.

This project will allow my students to engage in new technology, which is critically important in our society.

It will allow me to open the world to my students. They will be able to see and interact with places all over the world, just with the click of a few buttons. How empowering is that? I hope to inspire my students to become thinkers, dreamers and doers for our society. I hope to inspire a passion and life long love of learning. I think this is one way to help do that.
