Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

5th grade is the hardest for TX students. Imagine the pressure to pass a hard state Reading test in order to move on to 6th grade. The pressure and stress is a lot for a 10 year old.

All my students do not have money to buy supplies each year.

Sometimes they bring in what they can, if anything, and sometimes they bring in old supplies from other years or siblings. They need to pass the state Reading test to move to 6th grade, but need supplies other students in TX have to do so.

My Project

My students will have a notebook with three subjects to put in warm-ups, notes and vocabulary to help prepare for the test. They will be able to prepare for middle school by learning how to take notes and also have a place to keep notes to look at all year.

This is important because I believe that all students should have the same supplies and resources if they are expected to pass the same test.

This is not possible without assistance for supplies for my students from donors.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
