My Students

Children are more willing and encouraged to complete a task if they can do that task while being comfortable and having fun. I want to encourage my students' love of reading by providing them with a comfortable place where they can go to read.

My class this past year consisted of 24 Kindergarten students.

I would like to provide a separate space in my classroom where students can go to read and be comfortable while doing so. Our school is a public school and it is also classified as a high poverty school.

My Project

I think by providing my students with the requested materials, their love of reading will increase greatly. I want my students to have a comfortable place that is fun for them to be in and be able to sit and read. I also will use the soft seats during language arts when we do circle time and reading time. This will allow students to be seated on the floor close to me while being comfortable.

Giving a child the motivation to read and increasing the time a child spends reading is a gift that stays with children throughout their lives.

Your help with this project will guarantee that my students have an inviting reading environment that will foster their love of reading and learning!
