Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever been working on a project for days or weeks, and then the computer crashes or you don't have enough room on your hard drive to save it. Our computers don't have enough space. Each student writes multiple research projects, and compositions. They need to be able to save their work.

My students are incredibly talented High school musicians and composers.

They excel in creating many compositions and recordings. Each student in the AP Music Theory class must write 18 compositions of varying length, and six research projects on composers and compositional technique. My students not only excel in theory, but also in their performing music classes. Some of those ensembles include Mariachi, band, choir, Guitar, and others.

My Project

The data storage devices or portable hard drives will ensure that the students compositions are being backed up and won't be lost. The hard drives will also hold the thousands recorded songs we use in class making it faster to change between various composers than using Cd's. With the great music we have we need quality speakers to listen to the music with, and the Voice recorder will work with an I Pod to create podcasts for students that need to review class, or have missed it. These technology items will make the AP music theory class run smother, and give us more time to study instead of dealing with slow devices. This also will assist in meeting our state standards for 20th century learning - the students will be developing skills to use modern technology, and adapting it to their needs.

This project is so important because we just don't have the extra funding to provide these essential items.

The world of music and education is becoming more digitalized, we are struggling to keep up with the changes. Your help will give us a jump in the right direction!
