My Students

Monopoly? Trivial Pursuit? What is your favorite game? My favorite game when I was little was Monopoly. My Aunt Frieda always let me be the banker. That is how I learned how to be really good in math. Games teach you to keep score, to use good strategy, and they are so much fun!

My kids are third graders and they go to school in a big city in Texas.

They are all bilingual students. They are economically disadvantaged. They enjoy school and love learning. They are all good friends and are very kind to one another. They keep me smiling all day long! I am very fortunate to be their teacher.

My Project

My students need games to practice their multiplication, grammar, and spelling. We need games to practice number sense and game/puzzle strategy. Many of my students do not have board games at home so they will especially enjoy Boggle and Connect 4. The USA map will help my students learn the states. We are working hard on labeling a United States map so when they go to fourth grade next year they'll be ready to learn their capitals. Overall, they just need some materials that a typical middle class home would have, but they do not. These games will be used during work station time, early morning tutoring, and inside recess. A fun class is a class that is learning!

Your generous donation would give 30 students games and puzzles that will extend their learning and give them additional practice in the areas of math, grammar, spelling, and social studies.

My students would be so appreciative of these materials. These games would make learning fun. Thank you for supporting me and my wonderful group of third graders. We are always grateful for what we are given.
