My Students

If art is truly a record of the fact that we were here for a time and a means of self-expression, then permanent markers are definitely useful, being as their name is PERMANENT, right?

I teach art in a rural elementary school with high poverty and 75% free and reduced lunch.

I have students from K-5th Grade including many with special needs. Students usually love coming to art, all 600 of them! I enjoy seeing the excitement on their faces and hearing them ask me, "What are we going to do today?"

My Project

I encourage my young artists to express themselves freely. They can only have true freedom to do that when all of the needed materials are available. Permanent markers are often used to begin projects by outlining sketches, or to put the finishing touches on projects with nice crisp clean edges. We also use permanent markers to decorate many materials such as aluminum foil for projects. They are needed greatly and used in a variety of ways.

Thank you for considering funding these materials for my classroom.

Money for the near future has already been spent and funds are dwindling by the day with the economy the way it is. You are the only chance my 600 elementary artists have to obtain this wonderful and versatile material, permanent markers. Thank you!
