My Students

Have you ever hated to read, then read that one special book and loved reading after that one book? That is exactly what I am hoping to do with this project.

I am a teacher from a low income school district in Texas.

I constantly strive to find books that my students will love to read. The students are always coming to me and asking what would be special to read this week? That alone, let's me know that my students want to learn and read more. It makes me seek out those books that are of high interest to my students and I truly love when reading becomes their favorite thing.

My Project

That is why I am requesting several high interest books that are in a series so that if a student really likes a certain book, they can read more about the characters and situations in the next book in the series. The books that I have chosen are books that are great books that kids love to read that include, American Girl, Mercy Watson, Gregor, Captain Underpants, and Encyclopedia Brown.

I know I can make reading my students' favorite thing with these books!

Please help me do that by donating to my project. Reading is so important in all areas of education and I know that if we work together we can make life long readers and learners with this project.
