My Students

Think about wanting to be able to read a book but not having enough in your school to be able to take books home to read. That is a challenge I am faced with everyday. I want my students to soar like rockets in their reading but they are not able to take books home to read since we are limited!

My school is a Title 1, public school with the majority of students receiving free or reduced lunch.

Our school is very proud of the results we receive but there are achievement gaps with reading comprehension. I would like to have a leveled library in my classroom to allow students to check out books to take home each night to read. This would allow me to differentiate my reading levels and allow students the right to enjoy reading.

My Project

By having my own leveled reading library in my classroom students will be able to check out books on their level to work on the necessary skills they need in reading. This differentiation will increase student's comprehension and access to a world where reading is essential.

Your donation will make a difference to my classroom by allowing students the opportunity to read on their level and feel the enjoyment of reading that all students should be allowed to have.
