My Students

The students usually do work that they can take home with them. This particular project encourages the students to create a mural that relates to the subject taught on a particular hallway. For example, a big picture of a seed packet for the horticulture hallway.

These students are appreciative of any kind of experience that they can get in the classroom, but we are limited to what we can do as teachers.

The district is in need of help to get the supplies that we need. The help that comes from donorschoose is what sustains the art department at this school. Materials are always depleting. The students create some amazing work. They want it displayed so that their friends and family can see what they have accomplished. The students have to figure out how to draw the subject matter and they have to construct the works themselves. The parents and others from the community would love to see what the students can do. We teach them how work should be displayed. There are students who go on from high school and do things in the art field. It is rewarding to see a student take an interest in something that you, too, have a passion about.

My Project

The students will learn how to display artwork in a frame. They will learn how to share their artwork and ideas with their peers in an organized manner. The students will be able to take what they learn and use it for decorating their own homes. When they move out of their current house and get a place of their own they will know how to hang artwork on their walls. They will know what kind of artwork should go where in their house by the way they have hung work in the school. For instance, fruit and other pictures of food go in the cafeteria/kitchen area. Pictures of seed packets and garden tools go in the horticulture department or in the sun room at home. The students will be able to share the information with their families and friends.

By donating these materials you can help not only the morale of the whole school.

You will provide the students with the hands-on opportunity to hang their own work in the places that they can walk by and share with their friends. They will be able to say that they helped their school be beautiful! We appreciate the help that can come from donorschoose.
