My Students

Our students have autism and sometimes find it difficult to focus and relax themselves when they become upset or agitated.

They attend a public school district and are primarily in a learning support classroom, but are included in the regular education classroom for socialization purposes.

Children with autism have a variety of sensory needs. Visual stimulation gives our students something to focus on and helps them to relax and become settled.

My Project

We have a sensory room where our children may go to if they become upset or agitated. The variety of multi-colored effects in the carpet we have will provide stimulation and relaxation to our students particularly when activated by UV lighting, which we are requesting.

Our students are usually very interested in and captivated by bright lights and changing colors these items can be of real benefit to them.

We are incredibly passionate about creating the best program we can for our children on the autism spectrum. We are committed to providing a "whole child" approach to educating and including our children in the regular public school !!
