I teach Health and Physical Education at an Elementary school. This is the only school in the entire metro district that does teach Health education as well as Physical education. This is also the only school in the entire state to achieve Bronze level with the Alliance for a Healthier Generation!!!

As a Health and Physical Education teacher, I believe strongly in Gardener's multiple intelligence theory. Unfortunately, funding and mandated testing only puts emphasis on the three R's without placing any importance on health, kinesthetic development, or musical intelligence. I believe it is my job to advocate for the development of every multiple intelligence for every student rather than focusing merely on one.

Though this is only one small step in the process, having a quality speaker system that can hook up to a technology cart in the gymnasium is a very necessary step to help develop musical intelligence while the students work on the kinesthetic intelligence as well. It will also be very convenient for me to continue teaching dance, tinikling (dance from the Philippines), and jump rope.
