I teach some of the best children in NYC! Our school is located in an overcrowded and high-need neighborhood. Over the past 5 years, my school has been making strides in improving the quality of education our students receive.

In order to provide the best possible education to our students, sacrifices had to be made. This year our school library was converted into a classroom... my first grade classroom. The room has bookshelves on each wall and those shelves still house the school library books. I cannot begin to tell you the issue presented with storage on a daily basis. In addition to the limited storage space there is absolutely no secure storage space in the room. Since our classroom is used for several afterschool programs, it poses a serious problem for our class. Frequently items our class uses on a daily basis wind up missing and sometimes things are broken.

A storage cabinet with secure, lockable space is exactly what my classroom needs. If we are able to lock materials in our classroom, missing and broken manipulatives and materials would never pose a problem in our class again.

With your help, my students can be given an added sense of security. Each day my students come to school they know they will see me first thing in the morning. Please help them to know the materials they use each and every day will be there for them as well. Thank you!!!
