My classroom is a diverse group of extremely intelligent and easily inspired high-need urban science geeks.

Our school was developed as a school designated as the one public school where immigrant children went to learn English. My students deal with what they have in life and in their classroom the best they can. They have lots of wants that would make their school and their lives better, but they have no needs.

My project consists of an ActivSlate wireless notepad interface for our class Promethean interactive whiteboard. The ActiveHub allows the notepad to be paired with the main projected board in the classroom. This tool will allow effective student engagement during all lessons especially for English Language Learners (ELL). It will provide additional ways for students to participate in the lesson from their desks, and is especially useful with kinesthetic learners (students who learn by touch).
