I teach 24 first graders at a public charter school. Our school focuses on project based learning which allows students to guide the learning that takes place within the classroom.

My students love to take pictures to document their work and would love to create their own photography project. Currently we are using disposable cameras to document their projects, but are finding it hard to begin a photography project without fully functioning cameras. Without a budget for classroom media they are unable to have access to a "real" camera.

My goal is to put in their hands a real camera where they can foster their love of photography. Our class would be able to share the 4 digital cameras requested and use them to not only explore photography itself, but use their knowledge to use photography within math, language arts, and science.

Your donation will make it possible for my students to not only capture their progress within their student led projects, but also learn the ins and outs of photography. So many students are unable to explore their true interests due to lack of budget and your donation would make their ideas come alive.
