Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

At a schools were students have unprecedented access to cultural institutes and museums, supporting core class content and necessary Regents exam skills.

I frequent cultural institutes with my students on a weekly basis. I want to be able to take pictures of my students while they interact with the world's great art works. I want to capture the looks on their faces, their body language and the art that is providing for deep thought and reflection and a developing maturity in my my soon to be graduates.

A digital camera will provide opportunities for sharing and posting our experiences with friends, family, and the community. As my students build confidence in the museums, I want to record these moments.

A digital camera will give instant gratification and reflection of the museum visits. Students can use he images to remember these experiences, add to a working journal/sketchbook and be printed or uploaded to share with the school community.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
