My students are growing by the minute! I want there brains to grow as much as their bodies are growing. Currently, I am the teacher of a kindergarten class, that is in a high-need community. Such a setting limits the quantity and quality of the resources in the classroom.

One of the limitations has been in our carpet area. My students love the carpet area. We have lots of fun learning as we read, go over our daily calendar and have discussions about math, science and social studies. In every subject that we learn, we always start or end at the carpet. However, there is not enough room on the carpet for all of my eighteen students. Only fifteen of my students tightly fit into the carpet, while three of them sit on the floor. And as these youngsters are growing bigger each day, the carpet gets smaller and smaller. The limited area of the carpet has become a distraction in our learning, and as much as their bodies are growing we want their brains to be growing as well.

A larger carpet will help my students to concentrate better, and enable their learning. They are a bright group of students, and just a little more space on carpet will do so much throughout the year.
