My Spanish-speaking students need 36 bilingual books, including "Diego's Springtime Fiesta", "The Hare and the Tortoise (La Liebre y la Tortuga)" and "Three Little Pigs/Los Tres Cerditos".

As a fourth grade Language Arts teacher of 75 students, I often have several ESL (English as a Second Language)students in my classroom. For students who are new to learning the English language it can be very frustrating and challenging for them to understand concepts taught in class.

Currently, I do not have any books in Spanish and English that can help convey the topics and concepts taught in class. I also do not have books in my classroom library for my ESL students to read during reading time. These bilingual books would provide students with opportunities to understand English texts while being provided the Spanish translations of the story.

A set of bilingual books will provide students with the ability to learn and understand concepts taught in class. When reading a tall tale, students can read the story in their native language and in English. Seeing and reading in both languages will help students understand the concepts taught. Having both languages side by side in one book can help them begin to build their English vocabulary.

My ESL students are very eager learners and need your help to ease their frustrations while learning to read English. Thank you for your donation! Gracias!
