I teach a wonderfully inquisitive group of fourth graders in a rural part of central Missouri.

As a small, rural school in tough economic times, money for supplies that are not considered essential is just not available. The microscopes that are available are in short-supply, poor shape and difficult for my children to focus.

I would like to have 2 viewer-screen microscopes and supplies to accompany them to enable my students to explore their world on a cellular level. Talking about cells to 9-year-old students is too abstract, but their understanding of the subject is necessary to build later scientific knowledge upon. Letting the children look at real cells, especially on slides they helped prepare, will really bring the concept home!

You will help to give my students the strong foundation in science that will make them competitive in today's ever-changing world.
