I teach science, social studies, reading, Writing, and English to 35 fourth graders. our school is located practically at the back door to our Air Force Base. Because of our location, over 90% of enrolled students are part of a military family, some of which come from all over the world. In addition to being primarily a military campus, we are also a Title I school, with over 50% of our student population receiving free and/or reduced lunch.

I have many students in my class that have several learning styles and with limited resources, I am not able to reach every student based on their learning styles.

I am asking for a document camera to help carry out lessons so that each of my students are able to grasp the concept being taught.

We began this school year with a document camera that has showed inevitable signs of no longer being of service to my students; from overheating to having duct tape to secure the electrical cords together. While it has lasted thus far, I have seen signs that it will stop working. Also, since using my document camera, I have noticed greater interest in learning in even my most unmotivated learners. By having it, I am able to use it as an integrated technology, rather than just me writing on the whiteboard. Plus, when I am able to integrate an educational video into my lessons, my students are able to hear someone else talk for at least ten to fifteen minutes- not that they don't love listening to me.... Having the ELMO Document Camera would still allow me to have technology in my classroom. Power points, interactive activities and a larger view would keep all my students engaged and interested in their lesson
