The love of listening lightens up their lives! I teach 3rd grade Language Arts to all 77 3rd graders. I love teaching with literacy stations so that the students are up moving around and interacting with different mediums and using most of their senses. My students love going to the listening center. They listen to a book on CD and then complete different activities as they apply to the book and the lessons we are learning for the week. It is such a great way to learn and build sight vocabulary, model phrasing and fluency and to expose students to a variety of story structures.

My classroom is without a listening center! My students desperately need one. Listening to a story on CD while following along with the book is such a fabulous way to foster that love of reading. I feel like my students are missing out on that wonderful opportunity.

My classroom really needs a CD player, junction station(for multiple headphones)and at least 6 headphones. I think it will benefit my students by complimenting and supplementing content curriculum, developing listening skills and helping create better discussions.

Your help will make it possible for my students to receive a well rounded experience and opportunity in my reading classroom! Please help fill the void of "no listening center" in my classroom. Thank you for taking the time to consider my 3rd graders! All 77 of my students and myself sincerely appreciate you!
