This my first year teaching first grade. My students are bright and are learning to work independently. They love listening to books at our listening center however the management of this center is difficult.

At the present time my listening station is in a corner of my room, but the students have difficulty managing it independently because the cords are always getting tangled. My present system is old and some of the headsets do not work.

A wireless listening center would make the management of this center much easier and would foster independent learning. I believe it would also help my students be more responsible. This will also free up my time to work in small groups and help my students succeed in their early reading skills

This project will enable me to have a listening center in my classroom on a regular basis. Listening to stories is an excellent way to help my young readers improve their reading skills. This will help foster their independence and will help make this center an exciting and fun place to learn.
