I am an ESOL teacher at one of the select few international high schools in the United States. Most of my 9th and 10th grade students speak a minimum of 3 languages while learning English. The majority have come from refugee camps in war ravaged countries and have seen the worst side of humanity. Our school is a haven of safety, compassion, and learning for these children.

I have only one computer in my classroom. My students come to me with no knowledge of the history of the United States. Their reading levels average 1st to 4th grade and it is impossible for them to read grade level high school textbooks. They are very motivated to learn but the frustration increases because of their reading levels.

I need a LCD projector for my classroom to bring history alive to my students. There are wonderful resources available on the internet that can be brought to these children's world through this technology.

The United States has opened its arms to refugees for many years. The challenges to educate these kids are sometimes very difficult. This gift will bring one more tool into my classroom to bring United States history alive to them.
