I teach full-day Kindergarten in a classroom full of active Kindergartners. My school has 4 separate Kindergartens, so sharing materials can put a pinch on some activities. Many of my children come to me with little or no preschool experience. I also have students for whom English is not their first language.

My students need as much practice with the alphabet as I can provide. There are students at so many different levels and these trains meet that challenge. Children can work on simple letter recognition, matching the manipulative to the train car by using initial sounds of words, putting the train cars in order, etc. I would like to use these in small groups so that the kids get to have as much interaction with the experience as possible.

These three trains will allow my students to work together on a learning goal, regardless of their ability levels. I will be able to foster appropriate social behavior at the same time we work on Language Arts.

These trains will provide my children with a learning experience different than any other I can offer them. This will envelope all ability levels and let my students work together cooperatively on a learning project.
