I teach 6th grade Social Studies in a high poverty school. Many students do not have access to creative materials at home.

My high poverty students love using markers and colored pencils for maps, and other artwork that correlates with our Social Studies. Few of them are able to buy them to use in school and our school lacks funds to buy them for us teachers. I have found that all students enjoy the creative side of using these materials.

I need a class set of 30 boxes of colored pencils and 30 boxes of markers. I have 6 classes, and could share these in each class, so each individual had his/her own set to use in class. This will benefit each child and teach them more than Social Studies. They will be able to express themselves and complete projects in which they will be proud. Many have never used these materials before.

You help will ensure that my students each have the opportunity to use art materials to create and enhance their study of Social Studies topics. You will make it possible for them to learn and be successful with a project done well and complete.
