I am an avid fan of the Learning Styles theory which states that all children have different styles or ways of learning. Most of my students listen to music constantly at home and love it. Some of my students can focus better by listening to classical music in class, and some are too easily distracted.

My students don't have a lot, and if I were to let them bring their iPods to class, not all would have one. I want to be able to let each child check out one of mine to use during an assignment.

Research made between music and intelligence concludes that music training is far greater than computer instruction in improving children’s abstract reasoning skills. Researches concluded that playing music “activated regions in all four of the cortex’s lobes” and “parts of the cerebellum are also activated during those tasks.” Music is very powerful and some students will benefit greatly from the classical tunes I will download on them.

Please help me be able to support my students' learning styles and allow their brains to flourish while listening to classical music. Thank you.
