Super Hero Comic Book project will engage writers in a process that will fill our classroom with sights and sounds of communication so prevalent in this age of multimedia technology. I teach sixth grade language arts in a very high poverty community.

My students are such digital and multimedia thinkers. They have a great desire to produce projects which incorporate technology. However, we are hindered because we only have one working classroom computer for 37 students.

We are in great need of a working classroom computer. Students will use the computer to construct their own creative comic books. Super Hero comic book project will allow students to combine dramatic graphics, animations, and sound to create animated stories, puppet shows, and printout their stories as comic books. This project will benefit the students by encouraging oral and written language skills. Students will utilize the computer to present puppet shows and share their animated stories over the internet while having fun.

Your help will make it possible for my students to experience learning through multimedia instead of the regular classroom text. This project will also encourage reluctant learners. You will make it possible for my students to obtain a link to the new world of multimedia communication.
