I am the Guidance Counselor at a very impoverished elementary school here in Alabama. I am trying everyday to make a positive difference in the lives of the children that I serve. We are a title 1 onne school where 90% of our population is on free or reduced lunch.

The group that I started is called "The Golden Ambassador Gentleman's Club. This group targets at risk boys from very difficult circumstances in the home. This group consist of young men from foster care, fathers in prison, parents deceased and or victims of abuse. The idea is to keep them in an environment and teach them the appropriate behavior to ensure success. We lack the available resources here to nurture their gifts and talents.

We already have the boys involved with several community service projects, now we want to embrace and expose them to a variety of technology. We are starting another chapter at a sister elementary school and we want to set up podcast and webcams to conduct our weekly meetings. I will also train the young men on interviewing and job applications skills with the laptop.

I would like to thank you in advance for investing in such a wonderful group of children that have not been afforded a lot of opportunities to be successful. Your generous donation will get us off to a great start and give these young men a new sense of pride and hope.
