Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

LCD...LCD...where can you be???? I teach in a self-contained, portable 5th grade classroom. My students live in a low socio-economic area. Many of them do not have access to a computer in the home. The only exposure they get to the web or a computer is in our school. Our new Math curriculum has many wonderful web-friendly aspects and with the use of an LCD projector in our classroom, we would be able to use the web to engage the students in a more visual way.

We only have the one LCD projector at our school to share. This hinders my classroom in having daily access to the Math website that offers fun, engaging, and interactive Math lessons. Waiting to take a turn with the LCD projector puts my visual learners at a disadvantage.

If we had an LCD projector to use daily, it would increase the Math scores in my classroom. The daily access that it would permit would be used in other lessons in the classroom, not just Math.

You help with this project will ensure that my students get access to technology they are lacking at our school and at home.
