This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Writing and revising is much more fun on a computer. I teach a class of mostly minority boys who love the computer. I want to teach them how to correct their writing using a computer. The flash drives will teach the young man and young lady how to save their work and to return to it for later use.
My classroom has a broken printer. Therefore, the students need to save their work on a flash drive to print somewhere else in the building.
By having individual flash drives, it will allow the students to be excited about writing their story, correcting them, and sharing them with others. It will take the pain out of rewriting their writing pieces. It will also teach them how the world use modern technology enhance their writing.
Your help will ensure that my students are learning how to save and retrieve information. It will also help them feel good about an important skill.
