Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Ready, Aim, FIRE!!!!! My classroom will soon be learning about the American Revolution and why it is that we celebrate the 4th of July. In this particular 5th grade class there are a lot of low learners who need more visuals and materials at their reading level to be able to walk away with a clear understanding of the different events of the Revolutionary War.

The American Revolution is a historic event and kids are interested. However, our social studies books are old and torn. Some of the events are too complicated for kids to understand.

Having picture books and events told in a story format will allow for a deeper understanding of the events that led to America's independence from Britain.

Please help the heroes and the events of the American Revolution come to life with picture books. Your help will ensure that my students understand and value the freedom that we have as Americans.
