Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am the new librarian at PS 171 in East Harlem. One thing we have learned about our readers is that they do not get exposed to enough non-fiction text and periodicals. I am planning on fixing that! With just one class set per level of Time For Kids magazine, I can allow every student to read a current events magazine, work on the activities that come with the magazine and allow the students to have conversations about the current events in the world around them. I would like to request subscriptions for 35 students to each of three editions. Please help the children of East Harlem become more knowledgeable and worldly with these magazine subscriptions.
