Bringing Biology to Life

My students need a working TV to view Discovery network specials. They really enjoy shows like the Crocodile Hunter and Chimps of Eden.

Bring Biology to the classroom! I teach 10th grade Biology in a high-needs district. All of the students in my school qualify for free or reduced lunch. We have limited resources.

Many of my students have not traveled far from the neighborhood. They have a hard time relating to some of the more abstract topics of Biology, like photosynthesis and mitosis. The TV in my classroom stopped working on the last day of school last year, as I was trying to show Chimps of Eden from the Discovery Channel.

My students love having a break from "book work" - and I love introducing them to the world outside their neighborhood. But in order to do that, I need a working TV to show the specials that I'm spending this summer recording off the Discovery network.

Your donation will allow my students to learn about the world of Biology using excellent programs from Discovery and other channels. They really enjoyed the shows last year - "Humanzee" and "Chimps of Eden." I want this year's students to have an even better opportunity to expand their horizons.
