Have you ever seen those tear-jerking movies about students in the inner cities? That's the situation I teach in. Most of my tenth-grade Biology students are eager to learn about "real" Biology, not just what is in the textbook. They want to do experiments. They especially want to dissect something - even though this isn't part of our district's curriculum.
