When students come in and are insecure because of their body odor, we are able to provide body wash for them to freshen up because of your generosity. \r\n\r\nIn addition to the supplies you generously provided, we have fresh shirts and pants available to students when needed. You all have helped make our 'Basic Needs' area complete. You are helping so many students retain their dignity. My school utilizes PBIS, which stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. Students receive PBIS points when they demonstrate our school's core values-responsibility, organization, accountability, and respect. While the school does provide opportunities for students to spend their points, such as the school store or various events, I noticed that these opportunities were either not consistent or not motivating for my students. With that in mind, I created this project and was able to open my own PBIS points store with the snacks and fidgets from your donations. My students love visiting my store, and work harder to earn points in my class because they know they can use those points on a reliable basis for things they actually want. My class students who I teach are with intellectual disabilities and with other multiple disorders. When they saw the new material, they were so excited. As they have sensory issues it takes little time to understand to know how to use these materials. I used the timer to make them understand that when the timer goes off, it is time to change the activity. They really liked the stay calm ball. Each student tried the ball, they enjoyed shaking the ball and tried to find the triangle in it. I modified the activities while using the calm ball as per each students needs. They also liked the sensory discs.
