I teach in a state that has recently cut its education budget to the point where textbook and essential software funding has been lost.

My students flocked to the idea of creating a "real" newspaper and yearbook for our middle school. Of course, with that educational opportunity comes the need for software to create publications. While local newspapers will print our publications, they want them in the specified file format. My students are counting on your generosity to accomplish their goals.

We simply need software. Specifically, QuarkXpress, which is the industry standard in our area for publication design. We have held fundraisers to pay publication costs, and sold ads to pay for extras (like color on pages etc.). Now, we just need the software to get the students started.

My students are excited. I have told them they can get the job done and, with my inspiration and the support of local businesses, we have come up with computers, money to pay for printing costs and money for shipping the final publications to the printers. Now, we need your help. We can see the finish line tape, we are running hard to break it. We just need your support to push us over the finish line.
