We need a color printer/copier/scanner for making copies and printing information for the students, a Desktop computer for research and case creating, 2 cases of printing paper, 20 magazines from approximately 6 months back to present such as Time, Newsweek, The Economist, etc., folders (50 each), both manila and pocket, 25 Philosophical books (Kant, Locke, etc.), 3 boxes of pens for writing debate cases at tournaments (black, red, blue), 20 Insertable dividers for binders, 12 Day planner for students to be organized for tournaments, 2 Filing and storage boxes, 10 Correctable pens or white-outs, 1 Office Depot catalog, 5 Boxes of staples.

Grades 9-12

I teach high school civics to 10th graders. I am also the linebackers coach for the football team and now the new head coach of the Speech and Debate Team. This community has survived the most devastating storm ever seen and we are trying to little by little to build the community up and make it stronger than ever before. We are a public school in the newly formed School District with a focus on high education standards.

I currently have exactly ten (10) young adults who are excited and anxious to compete and create a legacy. I have found that we are in dire need of funds to faithfully and successfully compete with other schools that are powerhouses and that can travel throughout the state and get materials such as magazines, books, and etc. We are sincerely asking you for the opportunity for your organization to assist in competing in this life changing after school activity.

It will allow the team to compete head to head or face to face with their opponents and be on an equal playing field such as the state and national powerhouse programs.

The reason why I am emailing this organization would be the fact I, as well as my ten (10) debaters are asking for some assistance for this school year. We have been a part of one of the biggest natural disasters in modern time, Hurricane Katrina. The school lost everything and we are rebuilding our school from the ground up. All of my young adults have come back home realizing that they and their families have lost everything they ever owned. Many of them are emotionally down knowing that they have to start over again. Some have to miss a several days of school just to help their families. Thank you
