NFHS Rachel’s Challenge is a club of 150 students making huge differences in our community. NFHS Rachel’s Challenge is a club of 150 students making huge differences in our community. We need $1200 for our next outing for surrounding abuse & abandoned children's shelters that will then be made into a persuasive speech for class. We take the shelter for a day & treat them like stars! Campisi's provides free food & then we take them shopping for Christmas gifts. This is a huge growth opportunity for our students, provides them community service hours & a chance to help those less fortunate & step outside of themselves. When the students return they present a speech on what the experience meant to them, persuading the audience to get involved in community service projects & offering ways to get involved in those projects in our community. A little about what we do annually: We help 6 causes: Children's Shelters, Special Needs Care, Anti-Bully, Cancer-Children's & American Cancer, Service Men & Women & Rescued Animals. Rachel’s Challenge at Naaman Forest High School in GISD is a club/program set up in memory of Rachel Scott (the first person killed in the school shooting at Columbine High School on April 20, 1999). Our students basically run a full-fledged non-profit, get experience in various volunteer opportunities, build a broader understanding of our community & helping others & grow to be a huge part of a chain reaction that impacts lives. hide
